Councillor Robin Bradburn

Deputy Leader, Deputy Leader Milton Keynes Council & Leader Liberal Democrat Group

I am lucky to have been on Milton Keynes Council since 2010, and have been able to chair two committees in my time, including Budget & Resources. Previously, I also represented residents in Leighton Buzzard on South Bedfordshire District Council from 1983 to 1986.

This year I have not only become Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group, but I also have the honour of now being the Deputy Leader of the Council.

I have been married to my wife and fellow councillor Marie for 38 years, and have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.

Outside my time as an elected councillor I have had a varied career over the last 40 years. I started off as an Executive Officer in the Lord Chancellor’s Department, working at the Royal Courts of Justice in London, and have worked my way through several courts in South East England, including the first court IT service.

In 1986 I left the Court Service, and took on a new venture – running a public house, and subsequently a restaurant, with my wife for 11 years!

I then progressed into the electronic soldering industry, and then back into the Civil Service in the early 2000s, working for Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs as a Tax Advisor until 2015.

I worked as a self-employed tax consultant until 2019, when I decided to retire from full time work.
