Events & PR, the organisers of the SME MK and Buckinghamshire Business Awards, have announced a partnership with a new initiative to help local businesses to offset their carbon footprint.
The prestigious awards, which celebrate the achievements of thriving companies across the borough, have officially teamed up with Office Impact’s Naturescapes Project, which connects businesses with environmental projects across the globe.
Through the partnership, the Naturescapes Project will plant 15 trees in Buckinghamshire and 15 trees across the border in Northamptonshire. They will also offer all award entrants a 25% discount on Naturescapes Project membership.
The winners of the Green Award and Sustainability Award will both be gifted Champion Level Naturescapes membership – giving them 5 trees planted on their behalf with a certificate and details on the carbon that has been offset.
Damian Cummins, Awards Director at Events & PR, said: “This is a great initiative that we hope all small local businesses will engage with. It is really important to us that our actions support, not only the business community, but the whole community and this project shows our commitment to the bigger picture. This is a brilliant way for SME’s to offset their carbon footprint and really make a difference.”
Emily Donovan of Office Impact said: “We are really excited to be partnering with Events and PR and the SME Awards to help raise awareness of the effects of climate change, help support business in their drive to become more sustainable, and support a wide variety of environmental protection projects.”
There is still time to enter the SME MK and Buckinghamshire Business Awards, which offer more than 20 different categories including Best Customer Service, Website of The Year and Lockdown Leader.
