Awards entries now open!
Awards Sponsors celebrated the launch of the SME MK and Buckinghamshire Business Awards in association with The University of Buckingham at Regus Milton Keynes.
Jason Sinclair from The University of Buckingham said “The University of Buckingham had the pleasure of being a Sponsor for the SME Buckinghamshire Business Awards 2017 and 2018, and for 2019 we have taken things up a notch to be an Associate of the Awards! Higher Education has a very important role to play in the success and growth of our local businesses of all sizes! It’s a pleasure to not just sponsor an Award this year, but to be active in promoting the events, and highlighting the benefits to our businesses.
Why was this important to us? There are a few reasons; we are passionate about Business, we view it as important to support our Business Community as a whole and the University is perfectly placed and agile enough to do that, preparing and educating the next generation of Business Talent, supporting both Businesses and Students alike by helping create practical Internships and Placement Projects, and offering Professional and Executive courses to Businesses who want to grow and develop their people.
During 2016 alone 2135 start-ups were registered in Milton Keynes, so there is no doubt that Buckinghamshire is attracting and developing many Entrepreneurs, and the SME Awards give us a chance to celebrate these individuals, their great Business Ideas and hard work. We can never underestimate the importance of being an award winning organisation…..its powerful!”
New categories have been announced to make up this years’ 20 categories and include ‘Business Woman of the Year’ and ‘Buckinghamshire Business of the Year’. Winners in 18 of these categories will be progressed into the second stage of the SME National Business Awards 2019 and will be invited to celebrate their achievements in December 2019.
Speaking on behalf of Headline Sponsor Stanair, Wayne Thompson said “We are delighted to once again headline sponsor these awards. We are sure the entry levels, workshops, and the awards night itself will be a huge success. Good luck to all those who are entering the awards this year.”
The awards are free to enter and any business whether a sole trader or with employees up to 250 are eligible to enter.
